DC Matches

Let’s see DC matches in the last three seasons of IPL. If we look at their 2019 matches, the entire IPL tournament was hosted in India, while in 2020 the UAE became the host due to COVID-19 pandemics. In 2021, though the matches were initially played in various parts of India, the tournament was moved to the UAE as the second wave hit and intensified in India.

Delhi Capitals have qualified for the playoffs in the last 3 consecutive IPL seasons.

Fun88 Betting

Glancing at DC IPL match-list since 2019, they have played 49 matches, from which they won 29 and lost 17 matches, with a success ratio of 59.18%. They qualified for the knock-out matches in all the previous three seasons. Also, under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer DC appeared in their first-ever IPL final in 2020. The Capitals got a new captain last year in Rishabh Pant, replacing Shreyas Iyer.

DC Match Highlights

DC played 16 matches in IPL 2019, won 10, and lost 6. In the very first game of that season, DC defeated then three-time champions MI by 37 runs after putting up 213 on the board. Rishabh Pant was the top-performer with his fabulous knock of 27-balls 78.

After winning 9 group-stage matches, DC entered the playoffs in IPL 2019, which was their first in seven years. In their first Eliminator, DC defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad successfully chasing down 163, thanks to Prithvi Shaw’s half-century and Pant’s super-quick 49 off just 21 balls.

However, DC failed to reach the final as they lost to CSK in the second Qualifier. Shikhar Dhawan remained the top scorer for DC in 2019 with his 521 runs.

DC have their highest win percentage (67%) in the IPL season of 2009 and 2019.

Fun88 Betting

Founded in 2008, Delhi Capitals, formerly known as Delhi Daredevils, qualified for the finals first time in the 2020 edition of the IPL.  Shikhar Dhawan (618 runs), Shreyas Iyer (519 runs), and the South Africa spearhead – Kagiso Rabada (30 wickets, Purple Cap holder) were instrumental in the team’s success. Rabada will have Anrich Nortje accompany him in playing XI.

In the first qualifier, second-ranked DC lost to the table-topper MI by 57 runs, chasing a total of 200. But they outclassed SRH in the second qualifier, winning the game by 17.

Dhawan’s 78 runs off 50 balls and Rabada’s 4-for-29 propelled the team to enter the final. Though they once again lost to MI in the finals, this time by 5-wickets  after putting up 156 runs batting first. Iyer’s sturdy 65 runs didn’t prove sufficient against mighty MI.

DC are yet to win a IPL trophy despite of performing consistently well in the last 3 seasons.

Fun88 Betting

Continuing from their 2020 form, DC once again excelled in IPL 2021, won 10 out of 14 group-stage games, and topped the points table. Most of their group-stage wins were successful run-chases with a margin of 6, 7, or 8 wickets.

It was Dhawan once again who topped the most-runs chart for the Capitals with his 587 runs, while Prithvi Shaw was the second-best for his 479. Right-arm pacer Avesh Khan topped DC’s bowling chart with 25 wickets.

Though, they failed to make it to the final of IPL 2021 despite two opportunities they got from the two Qualifier games. In the first qualifier, they lost to the ultimate champions CSK by 2 wickets, even after posting a good score of 172 runs. And, in the second qualifier, DC lost to KKR by 2 wickets after scoring a modest total of 135 runs batting first.
