Though Bangladesh got independence in 1971, they had a rich fun88 history before their independence. British era brought fun88 to Bangladesh (then west Bengal – a part of India) around 1780, seven years before the Marylebone Fun88 Club (MCC) was established. In 1792, Englishmen residing in the region of Barrackpore and Dum Dum started playing fun88 matches with Calcutta Fun88 Club. After the Bengal partition, Pakistan started conducting the Quaid-e-Azam trophy in East Pakistan (currently Bangladesh) between 1954 through 1968. Before independence, there were 7 Tests hosted by Pakistan at Dacca (Dhaka) Stadium.

After the independence in 1971, Bangladesh established its fun88 control board (BCCB) in 1972. The things started slowly taking place until a proper domestic structure was established in 1975. BCCB started hosting national-level fun88 tournaments at the district level in two divisions. In July 1977, Bangladesh was awarded an Associate Member status by ICC. 2 years later, Bangladesh participated in their first ICC tournament to get a chance to play World Cup 1979, however they failed to qualify for the World Cup 1979.

Bangladesh played their first One Day International (ODI) 7 years later against Pakistan at Tyronne Fernando Stadium in Sri Lanka in 1986. Gazi Ahsraf’s Bangladesh team was dismissed for 94 runs. Pakistan chased the target easily for the loss of 3 wickets. It took 12 years for Bangladesh to register their first ODI win after losing 22 matches in a row. In Coca-Cola Triangular series held in India, the Bangladesh team captained by Akram Khan beat Kenya by 6 wickets chasing 237 runs. Overall Bangladesh have played 376 ODIs. They have won 128 and lost 241 games. 7 of them ended in no results.

In 2000, BCCB was awarded full membership of ICC. They played their inaugural Test in India. In the first inning, they put 400 runs on the board with a century from Aminul Islam Bulbul. Bangladesh eventually lost the game to the neighbours by 9 wickets. After 5 years, Bangladesh registered their first win in the Test under the captaincy of Habibul Bashar. They beat Zimbabwe by 226 runs. So far, the Bangladesh fun88 team has played 119 Tests, winning 14 of them. They have lost 89 and drew 16 matches. Bangladesh opened their T20I account against Zimbabwe in the 2006-07 season. In 96 T20I so far, they have won 32 matches and lost 62.

Bangladesh Fun88 Team

Bangladesh fun88 team starts their season in January by hosting teams like West Indies, Zimbabwe, and occasionally Pakistan at Home. Their exposure to Test fun88 is less as compared to teams like Australia, India, England, and the other test playing nations. Occasionally they travel to other countries to play one or two Tests followed by ODI and T20I tournaments comprising of 3-5 matches each. They generally travel to New Zealand, West Indies, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka.

Post-Pandemic, Bangladesh is gearing up to host West Indies for 2 Tests and 3 ODIs. The Test series will a part of the ongoing World Test Championship. The series was supposed to have 3 Tests, 3 ODIs and 2 T20Is but due to pandemic, the fixtures have been reduced. The series starts on 20 ^th January with the first ODI and ends as well in Dhaka after the second Test starting 11 Feb. After this series, they will travel to New Zealand to play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is. The tour will start on 13 ^th March and will end on 28 ^th March.

They play nothing after that till the World Test Championship final. After that, Bangladesh will travel to Zimbabwe for 2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is series starting around mid-July. They will host England later in the year for 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is series before taking part in ICC World T20. After the World Cup, they have a packed schedule hosting Pakistan and Sri Lanka. They will travel to New Zealand after that to take them into the year 2022. In the next year, they are scheduled to play many different teams such as New Zealand, Afghanistan, South Africa, West Indies, Zimbabwe, Ireland and India. They play 10 Tests, 24 ODIs, 14 T20Is and an Asia Cup in September 2022.

Bangladesh Fun88 Live

Bangladesh fun88 suffered a lot due to the COVID-19. they had to cancel their domestic fixtures as well as the BPL for the 2020 season. On January 20, 2021, Bangladesh will host their first ODI against the West Indies post-pandemic at Dhaka as a part of the ICC Men’s Fun88 World Cup Super League to qualify for the 2023 World Cup hosted by India. This tour has been shortened due to Pandemic.

After only 10 teams were decided to be part of the World Cup, Bangladesh will be looking forward to starting the series on a winning note to avoid qualifiers. Out of 3 ODIs, 2 will be hosted at Dhaka while the third ODI will be taking place at Chattogram.

Bangladesh is currently sitting at the last spot on the points table of the inaugural ICC Test Championship. They have failed to pick a single point in the 3 Tests they played. Therefore, their two-Tests series against the West Indies have got a lot of importance. They would love to pick up the points at home to end their campaign on a high note.

Just after the series, Bangladesh will travel to New Zealand to play 3 ODIs followed by 3 T20Is as a part of their practice to the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 to be held in India in October-November later.

History of Bangladesh Greats

In the history of 35 years of international fun88, Bangladesh have produced many greats. Habibul Bashar, Mohammad Ashraful, Imrul Kayes, Mohammad Rafeeq along with currents Tamim Iqbal, and Shakib Al Hasan are some of the famous Bangladesh Fun88 players. Habibul Bashar played for Bangladesh national team between 1995 to 2007. He is the most successful captain Bangladesh ever produced so far. After taking the captaincy in 2004 under the coaching of Dav Whatmore, Bangladesh started seeing their glory days in international fun88. Bangladesh registered their first Test win as well as beaten the top teams like Australia, India, South Africa, and Sri Lanka under his captaincy.

It was Mohammad Ashraful who was in the news for a long period between 2001-2013, and was most famous among the Bangladesh Fun88 players, with his batting style and fighting spirit. He was considered as the prodigy from Bangladesh. He has scored 6 centuries for Bangladesh in Test fun88 and three in ODIs. His emergence in world fun88 helped Bangladesh uprooting Football as the most loved sport in Bangladesh. In the bowling department, Mohammad Rafiq was the standout. He was the first Bangladeshi bowler to take 100 wickets in Tests and ODIs.

The greats like Tamim Iqbal, Shakib AL Hasan, and Mashrafe Mortaza are still playing for Bangladesh. Shakib is the only player in the world to score more than 600 runs and claim 10 wickets in a single edition of the World Cup. He has whooping 562 wickets for Bangladesh in all the formats. On the other hand, Tamim Iqbal is the only Bangladeshi player to score more than 7000 runs in the ODIs.  In the future, the list will grow as many players have started producing mesmerizing figures with bat and ball to upset the biggies at the international level.

Afghanistan Test team

Bangladesh’s current Test team is captained by Mominul Haque. With an experience of 40 Tests, he has 2860 runs at an average of 40.85 and 9 hundred – most by a Bangladeshi player. Their top-order comprises Tamim Iqbal, Saif Hussain, and Najmul Hossain. Tamim, being one of the most experienced on the side opens the inning for Bangladesh. He has played 60 Tests and scored 4405 runs at an average of 38.64 with 9 hundred. The middle-order is led by captain Mominul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim. Rahim is Bangladesh’s leading run-scorer in Tests with 4413 runs in 70 matches at an average of 36.77. Liton Das takes the gloves. for Bangladesh. All-time great all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and Mahamadullah strengthens the bottom-order. The bowling department is led by Hasan with Abu Jayed, Ebadot Hossain, and Taijul Islam. With the recent poor form of Ebadot Hossain, it looks like Nayeem Hasan will take his place in future tournaments.

Afghanistan ODI team

Bangladesh is currently sitting at the number 9 spot in the ICC ODI rankings. BCB recently announced the ODI squad of Bangladesh for the upcoming series against the West Indies. The captaincy responsibility is given to Tamim Iqbal. Bangladesh have been boosted by the return of Shakib Al Hasan after serving a one year ban given by ICC after failing to report a match-fixing approach. After all, he is the only Bangladeshi all-rounder to claim the top rank in the ICC ODI and T20I all-rounder rankings. Rubel Hossain and Taskin Ahmed have also been included in the team while bowling legend Mashrafe Mortaza has been left out of the squad as a part of BCB’s plan. Overall the squad is the same as that of the Test squad with a list of uncapped players like Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam, and Mahadi Hasan.

Afghanistan T20I team

Bangladesh’s current T20I squad is comprised of their young guns and few olds. Liton Das, Mohammad Naim, and Soumya Sarkar handle the top-order while wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim, Captain Mahmadullah, and Shakib Al Hasan strengthen the middle-order. Mahedi Hasan and Afif Hossain carry the bottom-order. The recent T20I form of the Bangladesh team has been a mixture of ups and downs. They won the series against West Indies in 2018 after getting whitewashed by the newcomers Afghanistan in three-match series. With the quality of domestic fun88 increasing day-by-day, Bangladesh is trying to improve its 33% winning record in the shortest form of the game. Thanks to the rise of the internet and the rage between the fans, the recent series of events have taken the competition between these two countries to the next level. In Test fun88, Bangladesh is yet to register a win against India. In 11 Tests between these two, the Bangladesh team has lost 9 matches. 5 times they have lost by an innings and runs. The two draws in 11 matches are because of the rain.

The ODIs scenario is not different from the Tests. In 36 ODIs against India, the Bangladesh team has managed to win 5. It was the summer of 2015 when Bangladesh won back-to-back games against India to win their first ODI series against the rivals. Mustafizur Rahman won the Man of the Series trophy for his 13 wickets in 3 matches. Bangladesh came close to upset India in the ICC World Cup 2019. They lost the game by bare 28 runs while chasing the target of 315.

In 11 T20I against India, Bangladesh won a single game by 7 wickets at Delhi. In World T20 2016, an ultimate effort from Hardik Pandya and MS Dhoni made Bangladesh lose the T20I by a margin of a run.

Bangladesh Vs Pakistan

In recent years, Bangladesh is improving their record against Pakistan in limited-overs. As far as Tests are concerned, Bangladesh have lost 10 out of 11 matches against Pakistan and has drawn one. In ODIs, they have a similar record as they have against India. in 37 ODIs, the Bangladesh team has won 5 while losing 32. In 2015, Bangladesh stunned Pakistan by whitewashing them in a 3-match ODI series at home. Bowling efforts from Arafat Sunny, Shakib Al Hasan, and batting partnerships between Tamim and Mushfiqur didn’t let Pakistan come close to a win. In 13 T20Is Bangladesh team has won only 2 matches.

Bangladesh Vs New Zealand

Bangladesh and New Zealand have played 15 Tests against each other. Bangladesh lost 12 out of them and managed to drew 3. When New Zealand toured Bangladesh in 2013 for the two-match test series, Bangladesh drew both the Tests to share the trophy. Current Bangladesh captain Mominul Haque was the finding of the tournament. He scored 376 runs in the series at an average of 188 with 2 centuries including his career-best 181 runs in the first test.

Bangladesh is yet to register a victory in T20I against the New Zealand fun88 team . In 7 matches, they only managed to scare New Zealand at Dhaka while chasing 205 runs. They lost that game by 15 runs.

But the ODI scenario is a bit different between these two nations.  In 35 ODIs, Bangladesh have emerged victorious 10 times. Bangladesh Vs South Africa

Bangladesh and South Africa have played 12 Tests and the stats are not different. Bangladesh team has lost 10 and drew 2 out of these 12. In ODIs, they have 4 victories in 21 games. But these victories are big upsets. Two of these victories have come in the ICC World Cups in 2007 and 2019 respectively. In the 2007 World Cup Super-Eight Game, Bangladesh beat South Africa by 67 runs. While in 2019, they set a target of 331 runs for SA, only to win the game by 21 runs. In a home series in 2015, Bangladesh won 2 games out of the three to claim the series. In T20I, the Bangladesh team has never seen the face of the winning side yet. They have lost all of their 6 games played against South Africa.

Bangladesh Vs Australia

In 6 Tests against Australia, the Bangladesh team has one win and 5 losses. In 2017, when Australia visited Bangladesh, the hosts won the first test by 20 runs. This is still known as the biggest upset Bangladesh have ever pulled. Batting first Bangladesh scored 260 runs and bowled Australia out for 217 securing a 43 runs lead. Batting second they got all-out on 221 to set a target of 265 for Australia. Shakib took 5 wickets in the second innings to bowl oy Australia on 244. Bangladesh lost the second Test and shared the trophy with Australia.

In 21 ODIs, Bangladesh have won 1 game and has lost 19. In the NatWest series held in England, Bangladesh chased the target of 250 with the help of Ashraful’s century to win the game by 5 wickets. Bangladesh have come across Australia four times in the T20Is. They are still victory-less against the Aussies.

Bangladesh Vs England

Since 2003, Bangladesh have played 10 Tests against England until October 28, 2016. They lost all the Tests. But in the last Test match played between these two countries, Bangladesh triumphed the opponents by 108 runs. Chasing 273 in the fourth innings, England tumbled down to the bowling of Mehidy Hasan. He took 6 wickets for 77 runs to help Bangladesh win the test by 108 runs. In ODIs, Bangladesh have 4 victories and 17 losses. In ICC World Cup 2015, Bangladesh provided an upset by winning their group stage game against England by 15 runs at Adelaide. Mahamadullah scored a century in the game and was awarded the Man of the Match trophy. Bangladesh is yet to play a T20I game against England.

Bangladesh Vs West Indies

In 8 Tests so far, Bangladesh have won 2 and lost 5 against West Indies. In 2009, Bangladesh toured West Indies and whitewashed the hosts in the two-Tests series. They won the first Test by 95 runs and the second by 4 wickets. Shakib Al Hasan scored 159 runs at an average of 53 and also took 13 wickets with the ball. Since 2009, Bangladesh is having an upper hand against the West Indies team in ODIs. They have won 15 ODIs out of 25 against West Indies after July 2009. In fact, it is West Indies who haven’t seen a victory against Bangladesh in the last 5 ODIs.

Bangladesh have a 45.45% winning rate in T20Is against West Indies. They have won 5 out of the 11 games against West Indies.

Bangladesh Vs Zimbabwe

Battle of the Minnows! When Bangladesh was taking the steps towards the test fun88, Zimbabwe was fighting with their government. When Zimbabwe toured Bangladesh in 2005, it was only Tatenda Taibu who had the exposure to Test fun88. Bangladesh Vs Afghanistan

You cannot forget to mention the new rivalry in the fun88 world. Bangladesh hosted the newbies Afghanistan in 2019 at Chattogram. The destiny had something else planned for the only Test played amongst these two countries. Amuse to all, Afghanistan beat Bangladesh by 224 runs in their first Test against Bangladesh. Rashid Khan took 11 wickets in two innings and left the Bangladeshi players bamboozled throughout the match. This developed a rivalry between Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

Bangladesh couldn’t dominate Afghanistan in T20Is like Zimbabwe. In 6 T20is so far, they have managed to win only 2 T20Is. Bangladesh suffered a huge loss when Afghanistan hosted them for a three-match series at Dehradun.  Afghanistan whitewashed Bangladesh and rang the bell in the world saying they shouldn’t be taken lightly. Bangladesh hosted them in 2019 and shared the series with 1 win and 1 loss.

In ODIs, Bangladesh have bettered their winning percentage by winning 5 ODIs out of 8. The first ODI between these two was won by Afghanistan. But then Bangladesh emerged back to register 5 victories in 7 games played later.
