Match Prediction – BH vs SS, 34th Match BBL 2021/22 – Who Will Win Today’s Match?
Brisbane Heat will be up against Sydney Sixers in the 54
th
match of the Big Bash League 2021. While Sydney Sixers are second from the top, Brisbane Heat are second from the bottom of the league table.
Brisbane Heat haven’t managed to impress at all this season. Their players have lacked chemistry and their performances have been devoid of grit and determination. They have managed to win just three games all season – the same as Renegades rooted at the bottom of the table although Renegades do have a game in hand.
Brisbane Heat have lost all of their last five matches. Following the loss in the Melbourne Derby, Brisbane Heat suffered a six-wicket defeat against table-toppers Perth Scorchers. Max Bryant played a fabulous knock of 81 runs for Heat but it didn’t prove to be enough as the rest of the batting lineup lacked effort. Mitchell Marsh ran riot with both bat and ball and Scorchers ended up winning the game in the penultimate over.
With this being their last league match of the season, Heat’s qualification dreams are all but over. They have lost 10 games and have only 16 points to their name this season. With that being said, they’d like to end their campaign on a high and beating one of the best sides in the league would be a fair consolation.
Sydney Sixers have been astounding in the Big Bash League this season. They’ve blown away almost every opposition in their path the defending champions have won eight of their 13 fixtures this season, losing only four times.
Despite being among the favourites to win the title again this season, Sixers were handed a rude shock in their previous clash with Adelaide Strikers who have managed to hit top form at just the right time this season. Sixers didn’t manage to get a big enough total on the board and half-centuries from Matt Renshaw and Ian Cockbain ensured a comfortable Strikers win.
Sixers are second in the BBL11 table and are level on points with Sydney Thunder in third place. They trail the table-toppers Perth Scorchers by 10 points but Sixers have the best net run rate in the league of +1.000. A win here will ensure Sixers’ high finish in the league table which is likely to get them a favourable playoff draw.
As expected, Sydney Sixers have the overwhelming advantage in the head-to-head record between the two teams. They’ve won 11 matches while Brisbane Heat have just three wins to their name. Sydney Sixers have also won three of the last five fixtures played between the two teams.

Who will win today’s match – Brisbane Heat vs Sydney Sixers, 34th Match BBL 2021/22?
Sydney Sixers are the overwhelming favourites for this match. They’ve played some fantastic fun88 throughout the tournament and will be looking to shrug off the loss from the previous match. Brisbane Heat, on the other hand, have hardly got going and they appear to be completely outmatched in this contest.
The two sides faced each other earlier this year. On that occasion, Sydney Sixers triumphed by two wickets.
The big news for Brisbane Heat going into their final game of BBL11 will be the return of star batsman Marnus Labuschagne. Having finished his Ashes commitments for Australia, Labuschagne returns to the Heat squad. He will be replacing local replacement player Nathan McSweeney in the 17-man squad.
From the Sydney Sixers camp, the return of Nathan Lyon for the final league-stage game is dominating headlines. Jordan Silk also returns from injury while Justin Avendano retains his place in the squad following the departure of Shadab Khan. Nathan Lyon will take up the place of local replacement player Nick Winter.
The potential battle between Marnus Labuschagne and Nathan Lyon could prove to be very interesting to watch. Both the players know each other very well and they recently spent time together engaged in the Ashes battle.
Game changers for Brisbane Heat vs Sydney Sixers, 34
th
Match BBL 2021/22
As far as Brisbane Heat are concerned, plenty will depend on Ben Duckett and Marnus Labuschagne especially considering the indifferent form of Chris Lynn. The likes of Michael Neser, Mark Steketee and Mitchell Swepson could also prove to be important.
For Sydney Sixers, Josh Philippe and Moises Henriques have done the majority of talking with the bat. Dan Christian is also a valuable all-rounder while Sean Abbott and Hayden Kerr have bowled well this season
Who will be the best match bowler?
Hayden Kerr has been the revelation for Sydney Sixers. He is their highest wicket-taker in the Big Bash League so far this season with 19 scalps. Kerr has bowled with immense control and his n average of 13.84 and economy rate of 7.30 reflects that.
Who will win today’s man of the match?
Josh Philippe is the top contender for the man of the match award here. However, Marnus Labuschagne had been in fine form during the Ashes and it will be worth keeping an eye out for him as well.
Who will be the best batsman for Brisbane Heat?
Marnus Labuschagne’s return comes as a breath of fresh air for a side that has lacked responsible batting for the most part. Labuschagne had been in fine form during the Ashes and even managed a century. He will be hoping to steer his team to success in the last match.
Who will be the best batsman for Sydney Sixers?
Josh Philippe has been brilliant with the bat. He is the third-highest scorer in the league at the moment and has the chance to overtake Jonathan Wells in second place with another fine knock here. Philippe has amassed 406 runs at an average of 36.90 and has a tremendous strike rate of 145.51.
