Match Prediction – CSK vs SRH, 17th Match IPL 2022 – Who Will Win Today’s Match?
Chennai Super Kings will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 17
th
match of IPL 2022 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Defending champions CSK have got off to a horrible start and have lost all of their three matches so far. Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad are rock bottom with two demoralizing losses from two games.
Chennai Super Kings have had a nightmare of a campaign so far. While MS Dhoni giving up captaincy was the talk of the town ahead of IPL 2022, on the pitch, it has resulted in disaster. New captain Ravindra Jadeja still doesn’t look comfortable in the shoes vacated by Dhoni and CSK haven’t clicked as a team this year.
They suffered a massive 54-run defeat at the hands of Punjab Kings in their most recent encounter. Their bowlers couldn’t handle the power-hitting of Liam Livingstone who smashed sixes to every corner of the park. He finished with 60 off 325 deliveries and then also picked up two wickets to complete a wonderful night. Rahul Chahar also struck thrice as the four-time IPL champions were bundled out for only 126. Shivam Dube, who scored a half-century, was the only performer with the bat.
That defeat has left CSK in eighth position and only Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad are behind them at this point. They also have a net run rate of -1.251.
If things are looking grim for Chennai Super Kings, they are even worse for Sunrisers Hyderabad who are rooted to the bottom of the IPL table. SRH have played only two matches so far but have looked like an extremely underwhelming side. They suffered a massive 61-run hammering at the hands of Rajasthan Royals in their opening IPL 2022 encounter.
In their latest encounter, SRH came close but in the end, couldn’t cross the line against Lucknow Super Giants. Led by KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda’s half-centuries, LSG scored 169/7 in their 20 overs with T Natarajan, Romario Shepherd and Washington Sundar all taking two wickets each.
However, Avesh Khan rocked the SRH run-chase with a spectacular four-wicket-haul while Jason Holder picked up three wickets against his former side in the final over to put SRH out of their misery as they ended up falling short by 12 runs.
Chennai Super Kings have a significant advantage in head-to-head record between the two teams. Of the 16 matches played, CSK have won 12 games while SRH have been victorious on only four occasions.

Who will win today’s match – Chennai Super Kings vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, 17
th
Match IPL 2022?
Both Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad have had their fair share of issues this year. However, CSK are expected to win this contest against SRH. Although SRH did well to take the game deep against LSG in the previous match, they still look weak in certain departments and it wouldn’t be surprising to see CSK edge past them and pick up their first win here.

Game changers for Chennai Super Kings vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, 17
th
Match IPL 2022
Questions have been asked of the CSK bowling unit who’ve conceded runs by the dozen in the past couple of matches. They lack a clinical edge to their bowling attack. The CSK batting unit will also depend heavily on the likes of Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, Moeen Ali and Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Sunrisers Hyderabad are expected to turn towards captain Kane Williamson and hope he stays at the crease longer. Rahul Tripathi, Nicholas Pooran, Washington Sundar are also capable of hitting the big shots. Umran Malik needs to exhibit more control along with his frantic pace while Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan have been reliable.
Who will be the best match bowler?
Chris Jordan looked excellent on his return to IPL. The English pacer picked up two wickets against Punjab Kings and also bowled at a fine economy rate of 5.75.
Who will win today’s man of the match?
Moeen Ali, MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja might be in contention to win the man of the match award. For SRH, Kane Williamson, Washington Sundar and T Natarajan are expected to be in the running.
Who will be the best batsman for Chennai Super Kings?
Robin Uthappa failed to make a mark in the previous match but he has looked like the best batsman for CSK in IPL 2022. He scored 28 runs in the first match against KKR and managed a fifty against LSG in the very next game.
Who will be the best batsman for Sunrisers Hyderabad?
Rahul Tripathi is someone who shows an aggressive intent at any stage of the game. He played a fine knock of 44 runs in the last match and his innings was laced with five fours and a six.
