Captain Hardik Pandya was phenomenal once again and he led the show with a knock of 87 not out of 52 deliveries. He then rolled his sleeves and also picked up one wicket while conceding 18 runs. Lockie Ferguson and Yash Dayal were also very impressive for Gujarat as they picked 3 wickets apiece.
The new entrants ended up winning the game by 37 runs and going on top of the table. Gujarat have the highest net run rate of +0.450 in IPL 2022 and they are the only team with eight points so far.
Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings overcame their horrible start to the season and finally got their first points on the board. Shivam Dube and Robin Uthappa seized the occasion against Royal Challengers Bangalore. While Dubey remained not out on 95, Uthappa added 88 runs as Chennai posted a massive total of 216 in their 20 overs.
CSK’s Maheesh Theekshana and Ravindra Jadeja stifled the attempts of an RCB run chase. They ended up winning by 23 runs to finally break their win drought in IPL 2022. CSK are second from last with two points, having won one of their five matches. They also have an underwhelming net run rate of -0.745 and have to build momentum from here on.

Gujarat Titans are expected to be the favorites here. Chennai Super Kings will depend heavily on in-form Shivam Dube and Robin Uthappa to get the bulk of the runs. Maheesh Theekshana has bowled with pace and control and Ravindra Jadeja’s all-round abilities could prove to be important.
