Match Prediction – GT vs LSG, 4th Match IPL 2022 – Who Will Win Today’s Match?
Gujarat Titans will take on Lucknow Super Giants in the fourth match of IPL 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants are the two new entrants in the Indian Premier League and will be hopeful about leaving their mark in their maiden campaigns.
CVC Capital Partners won the bid for the new IPL franchise from Gujarat which soon came to be known as Gujarat Titans. They acquired Hardik Pandya from the pool of released players for INR 15 crore and made him their captain. Gujarat also got hold of Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill for INR 15 crore and 8 crore respectively.
The team, coached by Ashish Nehra, had a successful IPL 2022 mega auction. Their bowling unit is well-rounded with the likes of Lockie Ferguson, Mohammad Shami and Rashid Khan offering plenty of options. However, Gujarat Titans have a shaky middle order and the lack of an experience Indian batter might hurt their chances this season.
Sanjiv Goenka led RPSG group secured the bid for the Lucknow-based franchise. The team was named Lucknow Super Giants and they will be led by former Punjab Kings captain KL Rahul after he was acquired from the players pool for INR 17 crore. Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis was brought in for INR 9.2 crore while they also roped in then-uncapped Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi for INR 4 crore.
During the IPL 2022 mega auction, Lucknow Super Giants built a squad that is well-rounded and more importantly, possesses a strong Indian core. Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul are expected to form a fine opening pair. In Evin Lewis, Manish Pandey and Deepak Hooda they have strong options in the middle-order. Marcus Stoinis, Jason Holder and Krunal Pandya are fabulous all-rounders while Andrew Tye, Avesh Khan and Ravi Bishnoi constitute a strong bowling unit.
The two teams have never played an IPL match before and therefor, have no head-to-head record so far.

th
Match IPL 2022?
Given that we’ve seen very little of both sides on the field so far, it’s hard to accurately predict who will come out on top in this encounter. Quality on paper doesn’t necessarily translate to success on the field. With that being said, Lucknow Super Giants appear to be more well-rounded of the two sides. They have a strong Indian core of players who are well familiar with the league and are expected to take charge of crucial situations.

th
Match IPL 2022
Given Gujarat Titans’ expected middle-order woes, Hardik Pandya needs to be at his very best. Suffering from fitness issues, he didn’t have a good IPL 2021 season. Pandya’s performance in the middle-order is expected to hold the side together. Lockie Ferguson and Mohammad Shami are expected to form a strong pace-bowling unit with Rashid Khan wreaking havoc.
For Lucknow Super Giants all eyes will be on KL Rahul. Rahul has been one of the most consistent scorers but he needs to embrace a more aggressive approach up top. Quinton de Kock and Evin Lewis are also excellent hitters of the ball. Jason Holder is expected to bring plenty of balance while Avesh Khan and Ravi Bishnoi will be hoping to begin things with a bang. It will be interesting to see how Lucknow utilizes Andrew Tye who came in as a replacement for Mark Wood.
Who will be the best match bowler?
Mohammad Shami has elevated his game over the last three years and has found consistent success. He has picked up 58 wickets since IPL 2019 and has been key for his side in the Powerplay as well as in the death overs.
Who will win today’s man of the match?
Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan and Mohammad Shami are expected to be in contention for the man of the match award. Meanwhile, KL Rahul, Jason Holder and Avesh Khan are expected to be key for Lucknow Super Giants.
Who will be the best batsman for Gujarat Titans?
There might be questions regarding his strike rate, but young batter Shubman Gill scores runs consistently. He has managed 918 runs over the last two IPL seasons but needs to adopt a more aggressive approach. Presently, his IPL strike rate is a lowly 123.
Who will be the best batsman for Lucknow Super Giants?
KL Rahul has been one of the top run-getters in the Indian Premier League and over the last four years, he has crossed the 550-run mark every season. However, Rahul’s strike rate has dipped from 158.41 in 2018 and to strike rate in the 120s and 130s. Lucknow will be expecting him to express himself in the IPL this season.
