Match Prediction – KKR vs PBKS, 8th Match IPL 2022 – Who Will Win Today’s Match?
Kolkata Knight Riders will take on Punjab Kings in the eighth match of IPL 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Both Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders kicked off their IPL 2022 campaigns with a win and will be hoping to continue the momentum.
Kolkata Knight Riders exacted revenge on Chennai Super Kings following their loss to them in the final of IPL 2021. KKR bowled extremely well and demolish CSK in the powerplay. Although MS Dhoni scored a half-century to take the team to a more respectable score, it didn’t prove to be enough. CSK could only manage 131/5 in their 20 overs.
The run-chase was led by new KKR batter Ajinkya Rahane who scored 44 off 34 deliveries and showed a wide range of strokes. Sam Billings, Nitish Rana and Shreyas Iyer also propped up with important contributions with the bat as the two-time winners got to the target with six wickets in hand.
Punjab Kings, meanwhile, managed to overcome Royal Challengers Bangalore in a thrilling clash that saw both sides scoring over 200. New RCB captain Faf du Plessis wreaked havoc and ended up scoring 88 runs. Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik also batted extremely well to help RCB cross the 200-run mark.
The PBKS run-chase was led by Shikhar Dhawan and Mayank Agarwal who both played fine knocks before Bhanuka Rajapaksa took over. The Sri Lankan batter slammed 43 off just 22 deliveries and Odean Smith smacked 25 off eight balls to secure a fantastic win for Punjab Kings.
Kolkata Knight Riders have a significant advantage in head-to-head record between the two teams. Of the 29 matches played, KKR have won 19 games while PBKS have been victorious on only 10 occasions.

Kolkata Knight Riders, meanwhile, will have to make do without the services of Aaron Finch and Pat Cummins.
