Match Prediction – LSG vs CSK, 7th Match IPL 2022 – Who Will Win Today’s Match?
Lucknow Super Giants will be up against Chennai Super Kings in the seventh match of IPL 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Chennai Super Kings are arguably the most consistent and successful IPL franchise of all time while Lucknow Super Giants are yet to pick up their first win in the Indian Premier League.
Lucknow Super Giants couldn’t have gotten off to a worse start in the Indian Premier League. Mohammed Shami rocked their top-order in the powerplay and LSG lost their captain KL Rahul on the very first ball of the match. They were crumbling at 29/4 at one stage before Ayush Badoni and Deepak Hooda mounted the resistance. Both of them scored fifties to power LSG to a competitive total of 158/6.
With the ball, the likes of Dushmantha Chameera and Krunal Pandya bowled well to get Lucknow back into the game. However, they fell short against an in-form Rahul Tewatia who led Gujarat Titans to victory in their debut IPL outing. Lucknow will have a lot to learn from that defeat.
Chennai Super Kings, meanwhile, ended up on the losing side against Kolkata Knight Riders, the same side who they defeated in the IPL 2021 final to win the title. The four-time IPL champions lost plenty of wickets in the powerplay which deflated their momentum with the bat. MS Dhoni, having given up captaincy, played with a sense of freedom and scored the first half-century of the season.
However, their total didn’t pose any kind of a problem for the Knight Riders during the run-chase. Ajinkya Rahane powered the chase while captain Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten to see his side home. CSK lacked balance in their starting XI in the first match and will be expected to make a few changes to their lineup.
The two teams have never played an IPL match before and therefor, have no head-to-head record so far.

th
Match IPL 2022?
Chennai Super Kings are expected to come out on top in this encounter against Lucknow Super Giants. LSG, as a side, still look pretty raw and the chemistry is lacking between the players. They didn’t put a strong enough show with either the bat or the ball in the first match. Although CSK lost the season opener against KKR, they will be expected to bounce back stronger here.

th
Match IPL 2022
The LSG top-order of KL Rahul, Quinton de Kock, Evin Lewis and Manish Pandey suffered complete collapse at the hands of Gujarat Titans in their first match. More caution will be expected from them going forward. Dushmantha Chameera and Krunal Pandya bowled extremely well and there were flashes of brilliance from Avesh Khan and Ravi Bishnoi as well.
The return of Moeen Ali will be a blessing for Chennai Super Kings. Moeen solves many of the issues faced by the team in the first match and will bring much more balance to the starting XI. He has joined the team following his quarantine period and is expected to take to the lineup against LSG. Eyes will also be on Ruturaj Gaikwad and whether he can shake off his poor dismissal from the first match.
Who will be the best match bowler?
Despite being in his twilight years and having given up international fun88, Dwayne Bravo continues to be as important as ever for Chennai Super Kings. He picked up three wickets against KKR in the season opener to go level with Lasith Malinga as the joint highest wicket-taker in IPL history. Both Bravo and Malinga have 170 scalps to their names each.
Who will win today’s man of the match?
KL Rahul, Evin Lewis and Dushmantha Chameera could prove to be the contenders for the man of the match award here. For Chennai Super Kings, Moeen Ali, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ruturaj Gaikwad are expected to be in contention.
Who will be the best batsman for Lucknow Super Giants?
KL Rahul has been one of the top run-getters in the Indian Premier League and over the last four years, he has crossed the 550-run mark every season. However, Rahul’s strike rate has dipped from 158.41 in 2018 and to strike rate in the 120s and 130s. Lucknow will be expecting him to express himself in the IPL this season after getting out on the first ball in their first match.
Who will be the best batsman for Chennai Super Kings?
Ruturaj Gaikwad proved to be the star of the show for CSK last season and was one of the most important players behind their success. He scored 635 runs in only his second IPL season to win the Orange Cap. Gaikwad was consistent throughout the season and CSK will be counting on him heavily here after he got out on a duck in the first match against KKR.
