Match Prediction – LSG vs KKR, 53rd Match IPL 2022 – Who Will Win Today’s Match?
Lucknow Super Giants will face a rejuvenated Kolkata Knight Riders in the 53rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday (May 7) evening. It is that stage of the tournament when the teams in bottom half start gaining momentum and LSG will have to be aware of that fact. KKR defeated the Rajasthan Royals in the previous game and will be confident of taking down another in-form team.
The Shreyas Iyer-led side has made the most changes to their playing XI in this season thus far. For the encounter against RR, they took some hard decisions and they paid off for them which might lead to the management going with the same side. Their batting has disappointed the most so far even as the bowling has been entirely consistent either with only Sunil Narine being economical.
The opening slot continues to be a cause of concern for them as Aaron Finch has only one score of semblance to show. The team has used five different opening pairs so far with none producing expected results and it remains to be seen if they stick to Finch and Baba Indrajith for this encounter despite the move not working. With every game being a do or die for them, KKR should settle on their combination and hope for the best.
Lucknow Super Giants, on the other hand, seem to be peaking at the right time. Not that they played badly before that but the last three games have been excellent for them and there is no reason why they wouldn’t want to extend their winning streak. They are currently at the second position with seven wins to their name and a win should more or less seal their place in the top four too.
It has been a collective effort from LSG with KL Rahul leading from the front with the bat while the likes of Deepak Hooda and Quinton de Kock playing a supporting role to the perfection. With the ball, they have been even better with six of them picking 8 or more wickets thus far.
The two teams are facing each other for the first time in the history of IPL and it is expected to be a riveting affair.

Who will win today’s match – Lucknow Super Giants vs Kolkata Knight Riders, 53rd Match IPL 2022?
Lucknow Super Giants are overwhelming favourites to win this game as they are putting up a team effort every time they take the field. The fast bowlers and spinners are consistently picking wickets in almost every phase of the game, the batting has been just about complimenting them well.
As for KKR, it looks tough as of now as they haven’t been consistent in any of the departments. They have botched up easy chases before but they found a new hero in Rinku Singh in the previous game who bailed them out. The team will need individuals to put their hands up and win matches for them in order to beat a team like LSG.
Game changers for Lucknow Super Giants vs Kolkata Knight Riders, 53rd Match IPL 2022
KL Rahul is undoubtedly the game changer for LSG with his batting while Deepak Hooda is another player who has played his role to the perfection in whatever position he has batted. With the ball, Krunal Pandya and Mohsin Khan were brilliant in the last couple of matches and we might see some other bowlers taking up the responsibility in this game.
Nitish Rana finding his form has been a huge relief for KKR and the left-hander has the ability to win games single-handedly for them. Along with him, Sunil Narine will have to pick wickets in his spell along with keeping a check on the run-flow of the opposition team.
Who will be the best match bowler?
Though Narine has picked only seven wickets in 10 innings so far this season, his economy of 5.25 is certainly one of the best. More often than not, teams are looking to play him out and if KKR are defending a big total, he can turn out to be even more dangerous.
Who will win today’s man of the match?
KL Rahul is clearly the player to watch out for in this encounter having scored 451 runs so far with his amazing consistency. If he doesn’t get out early, it is almost certain that he will bat through the innings helping the team to post a big total.
For KKR, Shreyas Iyer is the likeliest player to take up the job as he is due a big one for long time now. He needs to lead from the front and make sure the team gets over the line.
Who will be the best batsman for Lucknow Super Giants?
LSG skipper KL Rahul has plundered runs at will this season. He starts off slowly in the powerplya but scorings runs at a fair clip in the middle overs has been forte. With a strike-rate of 145.01 this season so far, he looks set for yet another good outing.
Who will be the best batsman for Kolkata Knight Riders?
Shreyas Iyer has scored 324 runs in 10 matches with two fifties but he has wasted a lot of starts. With the playoffs race heating up and very little margin for mistakes, the time is ripe for the KKR skipper to lead from the front.
