Match Prediction – LSG vs MI, 37th Match IPL 2022 – Who Will Win Today’s Match?
Lucknow Super Giants will take on Mumbai Indians in the 37th match of IPL 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Lucknow Super Giants have won four of their seven games and are fourth in the IPL 2022 table. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians are still winless after seven matches and are stuck to the bottom of the table.
Lucknow Supergiants have done well in their maiden IPL campaign. They are fourth in the table with eight points and have a net run rate of +0.124. LSG are arriving into this clash after losing their previous game against Royal Challengers Bangalore by 18 runs.
Although the top order suffered several setbacks, it was captain Faf du Plessis who smashed 96 runs to take them to a competitive score of 181. Jason Holder and Dushmantha Chameera had picked up two wickets each for LSG.
In response, LSG could never get going in the run chase. With the exception of Krunal Pandya, who smashed 42 runs of 28 deliveries, and Marcus Stonis, who hit 24 runs of 15 deliveries, nobody else managed to make a proper dent. The RCB bowlers, held in nerve in the final couple of overs to see the team past the finish line.
On the other hand, it has been a nightmare of a season for five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians. They have become the first side in the history of the Indian Premier League to lose all of their first seven games. MI are rooted to the bottom of the table with a net run rate of -0.892 and their hopes of making it to this year’s playoffs are virtually over.
In their previous match against Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians lost both openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan to Mukesh Choudhary in the very first over. It was Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav’s countercharge which took them to a respectable total of 155 inside 20 overs.
Although Chennai Super Kings also had their fair share struggles with the bat, MS Dhoni rolled back the years and slammed 28 runs off 13 deliveries in the final couple of overs to see them past the finish line. Losing on the final ball would have especially been a difficult pill to swallow for the MI players and supporters and it has been a horrible season for them.
Lucknow Super Giants have squared off against Mumbai Indians only once before. LSG, won that encountered by 18 runs thanks to captain KL Rahul’s unbeaten century.
