Match Prediction – MS vs MR, 33rd Match BBL 2021/22 – Who Will Win Today’s Match?
It is the Melbourne derby in match number 33 of this Big Bash League (BBL) 2021-22 as Melbourne Stars take on Melbourne Renegades at the iconic MCG. Both teams have had their share of struggles.
Melbourne Stars have been jolted by multiple COVID-19 cases in their camp. That has affected the team’s balance and composition and that saw them hand out four debuts in the last game against Perth Scorchers. Performance-wise, Melbourne Stars haven’t really been up to the mark either. They have three wins and four losses and they are lying low at No. 6 on the points table.
On the other hand, Melbourne Renegades started the season with a win against Adelaide Strikers. But since then, they have been winless. They lost five games in a row before their last game was washed out. They are reeling at the bottom of the points table and they haven’t even won a lot of Bash Boost points.

Who will win today’s match Melbourne Stars vs Melbourne Renegades, 33
rd
Match BBL 2021/22??
Melbourne Stars have as many 10 players who tested positive in their camp and that has caused a revamp of the squad for a few games. But the batting continued to be inconsistent with the big guns like Glenn Maxwell not firing. But the Stars will be pleased with the return to form of Joe Clarke and they will hope that others come to the party soon. Meanwhile, Brody Couch and Qais Ahmad are the ones who’ve been amongst the wickets.
Melbourne Renegades just haven’t come good with either bat or ball and there has barely been a collective performance. Matthew Harvey and Sam Harper have chipped in nicely with the bat but the other experienced players like Aaron Finch and Mohammad Nabi just haven’t turned up. Finch has got a half-century but apart from that, there hasn’t been any score of significance. Nabi has one wicket and 36 runs. Thus, Renegades will need their big players to step up and deliver if they are to compete and revive their campaign.

Match BBL 2021/22
Glenn Maxwell may not be in the best of forms but he will still be the big threat. Such is his impact and he can do it in all three departments. Joe Clarke’s form makes him a top pick to be the game-changer as well. Zahir Khan has been bowling well and he could relish the big boundaries at the MCG and pick a few wickets.
Who will be the best match bowler?
Haris Rauf has been a consistent performer for Melbourne Stars in the BBL and he picked up two wickets in his first season of this season.
Who will win today’s player of the match?
Glenn Maxwell could be one of the contenders and he has a decent record against the Melbourne Renegades as well (444 runs at a strike-rate of 146.05). Aaron Finch might be another player to watch out for. Joe Clarke is in blistering form and he may be in contention as well.
Who will be the best batsman for Melbourne Stars?
Joe Clarke has been batting beautifully in the recent games. The 25-year-old England wicket-keeper batter has struck three successive half-centuries and will be the key for the Melbourne Stars.
Who will be the best batsman for Melbourne Renegades?
Aaron Finch has a solid record against the Melbourne Stars. The experienced opener has scored 513 runs at an average of 39.46 and a strike-rate of 142.11 against them.
