Match Prediction – MI vs CSK, 33rd Match IPL 2022 – Who Will Win Today’s Match?
Mumbai Indians will take on Chennai Super Kings in the 33rd match of IPL 2022 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are the two most distinguished sides in the Indian Premier League, but they’ve had unremarkable campaigns so far.
There seems to be no end to Mumbai Indians’ misery in the competition. MI have lost their first six matches in an IPL season for the first time in their history and the side looks like in jeopardy. Despite a few notable individual performances, MI haven’t clicked as a unit so far which has been evident in their performances on the field. Their bowling unit, especially, has been a let-down compared to previous seasons.
Mumbai Indians are rooted to the bottom of the IPL 2022 table and they are yet to open their account. They also have a horrible net run rate of -1.048. The five-time IPL champions lost their previous match against Lucknow Super Giants by 18 runs.
Batting first, captain KL Rahul, lead proceedings for Lucknow with a fantastic unbeaten century. LSG fell one run short of 200 runs, setting up formidable target for MI to chase. Although youngster Dewald Brevis and middle-order batters Suryakumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard played handy knocks, MI ended up falling short. Avesh Khan picked up 3 wickets for 30 runs and was the star bowler for LSG in the match.
Although Chennai Super Kings picked up their first win of the season with a 23-run victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore, they were unable to sustain that momentum. The defending champions have lost five of their six match so far and are second from bottom in the table. They have only two points to their name and a net run rate of -0.638.
However, they lost their previous clash against Gujarat Titans by 3 wickets. David Miller played a mammoth Knock to secure victory for Gujarat. He remained not out on 94 off 51 deliveries, which helped GT chase down CSK’s target of 170. However, the biggest takeaway of the night for CSK will be Ruturaj Gaikwad returning to form. The opening batsman, who won the Orange Cap in IPL last season, finally scored his first half century in IPL 2022.
MI and CSK have a rich history and matches between the two sides have been some of the most enthralling encounters in IPL. They have clashed several times in IPL finals and knockout games. MI have the upper hand with 19 victories, while CSK have won 13 matches.

Who will win today’s match – Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings, 33rd Match IPL 2022?
Although Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are usually regarded as the giants of IPL, this season they have been very underwhelming. There are several important areas to address for both sides. However, CSK might have a little edge over their counterparts. Chennai Super Kings have a more balanced squad on paper and it won’t be surprising to see them come out on top. Check out the
MI vs CSK prediction
to know why CSK are favourites in this clash.
Game changers for Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings, 33rd Match IPL 2022
Suryakumar Yadav’s return did wonders to bolster an under-firing MI middle-order. Youngster Dewald Brevis has been extremely impressive. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan’s form at the top doesn’t inspire confidence while the bowling unit has also lacked a clinical nature.
Chennai Super Kings will depend heavily on in-form Shivam Dube and Robin Uthappa to get the bulk of the runs. Maheesh Theekshana has bowled with pace and control and Ravindra Jadeja’s all-round abilities could prove to be important.
Who will be the best match bowler?
Veteran bowler Dwayne Bravo picked up 3 wickets in the previous clash. Bravo is the highest wicket taker in IPL history and despite being in the twilight years of his career, he still knows how to get the job done, especially in the death overs.
Who will win today’s man of the match?
Suryakumar Yadav, Dewald Brevis, Kieron Pollard and Jasprit Bumrah are expected to be in contention for the man of the match award. Meanwhile, Robin Uthappa, Shivam Dube, and Ravindra Jadeja are also likely to be in the running.
Who will be the best batsman for Mumbai Indians?
Suryakumar Yadav has hardly to break a sweat since returning from injury for Mumbai Indians. He has almost single-handedly taken them to respectable scores in the last three matches and has done wonders. He will be hoping to add another half-century here.
Who will be the best batsman for Chennai Super Kings?
After a few dismal outings with the bat, Ruturaj Gaikwad’s return to form could mean business is back in order for Chennai Super Kings. Gaikwad had won the Orange Cap in IPL 2021 with his fantastic performances, and he will be hoping to have a similar impact from here on.
