Match Prediction – PS vs AS, 9th Match BBL 2021/22 – Who Will Win Today’s Match?
Perth Scorchers will clash with Adelaide Strikers in the ninth match of Big Bash League 2021. Both teams are arriving into this match after a win in their most recent games.
Perth Scorchers began their Big Bash League campaign this season with a nervy win over Brisbane Heat. Led by Kurtis Patterson’s half-century, Perth Scorchers posted 157 runs on the board at the Optus Stadium. Although Brisbane Heat’s Sam Heazlett provided plenty of resistance with his 17-ball 34, Matthew Kelly and co had the final say. Kelly picked up four wickets for just 28 runs in his four overs as Perth Scorchers managed to defend their target by six runs in the final over.
Adelaide Strikers, on the other hand, began their campaign with a shock defeat to Melbourne Renegades. Strikers ended up losing the game by a narrow margin of two runs but showed plenty of character to bounce back strongly in the very next game. Matt Short, Jonathan Wells, Wes Agar and Rashid Khan shone in their respective departments as Strikers ended up winning the reverse fixture against Melbourne Renegades by 49 runs. With that win they are second in the table behind Sydney Sixers.
The head-to-head record between the two teams paints a pretty competitive picture. Both teams have won equal number of games against each other. Adelaide Strikers have been better in recent seasons however.

Who will win today’s match?
Perth Scorchers showed their resolve and determination to pick up a win against Brisbane Heat despite missing several key players. However, they will face a stronger challenge against Adelaide Strikers. The Scorchers batting unit has to put in a better shift at the Sydney Showground Stadium against a lethal bowling attack.
Adelaide Strikers have one of the strongest bowling attacks in the competition and they would be expected to catch a weakened Perth Scorchers team off-guard here.
Australia’s hero from the T20 World Cup final Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglish are unavailable for selection for Perth Scorchers as they will be busy with Australia A duty. Marquee signing English bowler Tymal Mills is also in quarantine having recently arrived from Abu Dhabi.
Adelaide Strikers will be without Ryan Gibson who sustained an injury in the opening game against Melbourne Renegades. Meanwhile, Travis Head is busy with Australia duty and scored a century against England in the first Ashes Test.
fun88in.in Tips
Victory in the previous game against Brisbane Heat was a testament to the squad depth of Perth Scorchers. The likes of Matthew Kelly and Ashton Agar proved to be decisive with the ball. Scorchers would be expecting more form senior figures in Colin Munro and Cameron Bancroft in this game.
Rashid Khan showed his brilliance in the previous match against Melbourne Renegades with his spell of 2/17 in four overs. Captain Peter Siddle also had a magnificent economy rate of 3.67 along with a wicket while Daniel Worrall and Wes Agar also shared five wickets between them while having stupendous economy rates. Adelaide Strikers’ world-class bowling could prove to be a cause for concern for Perth Scorchers in this game.
