issed a couple of regular players in the first couple of games as they were out on Australia ‘A’ duty. But despite that, the three-time champions and the finalists of the 2020-21 season managed to win. After the inclusion of the likes of Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis along with the addition of left-arm fast bowler Tymal Mills, the Perth Scorchers line-up looks even better.
Their batting has fired. Colin Munro and Mitchell Marsh have got hundreds already in this tournament while the likes of Kurtis Patterson, Cameron Bancroft and Laurie Evans have made vital contributions. The bowling has fired in unison as well. The pace battery has been amongst the wickets while the spin twins of Ashton Agar and Peter Hatzoglou have been excellent as well.
On the other hand, the only game that Hobart Hurricanes won was when their openers (Matthew Wade and D’Arcy Short) fired. In fact, the left-handed duo are the only batters to have got half-centuries in this BBL so far. The other batters haven’t really stepped up. There have been starts but none of them have converted it into big scores. The bowling has not shown any sort of consistency either.
Thus, Perth Scorchers are going to start as favourites once again.
