Match Prediction – PS vs MS, 27th Match BBL 2021/22 – Who Will Win Today’s Match?
Perth Scorchers will take on Melbourne Stars in the 27
th
match of the Big Bash League 2021. Perth Scorchers are yet to be defeated while Melbourne Stars finally got back to winning ways in their previous match.
Perth Scorchers have been no less than a juggernaut in the Big Bash League this season. They’ve blown away any and every opposition in their path and after six matches, they are yet to be beaten. Scorchers have completely outplayed their opponents and nothing less than the title will be a satisfaction for them in BBL11.
They’ve defeated Hobart Hurricanes and Melbourne Renegades twice, Brisbane Heat, Adelaide Strikers and are comfortably sitting on top of the table with 21 points and a tremendous Net Run Rate of +1.673 – the best in the league.
Despite possessing a star-studded squad filled with experienced campaigners, Melbourne Stars are yet to truly get into the groove this season. Having played six matches, they’ve won thrice and lost thrice. Stars will be glad to get back to winning ways after defeating Brisbane Heat by 20 runs recently. With Stoinis, Maxwell and Russell all misfiring, it was Joe Clarke and Hilton Cartwright who helped Melbourne Stars cross the 200-run mark.
With that win against Brisbane Heat, Melbourne Stars have climbed to the fourth position in the table. They are trailing Perth Scorchers by 11 points already and are our points behind Hobart Hurricanes in third position. Melbourne Stars have a Net Run Rate of -1.114.
As far as the head-to-head record is concerned, Perth Scorchers just edge Melbourne Stars with nine wins to eight. The two teams share the spoils over the last five matches with both teams winning twice each.

Who will win today’s match?
Perth Scorchers are the overwhelming favourites for this match. They’ve been on a different level compared to any other team in the league and have discovered a wonderful winning rhythm. Scorchers have one of the most balanced sides in BBL11 and the chemistry between the players has been quite evident in their performances on the pitch.
Lance Morris was included in the Perth Scorchers extended squad for the trip to Melbourne. He might retain his place in the squad even though he didn’t make an appearance. Scorchers named an unchanged squad for the match against Sydney Thunder and are likely to persist with the same combination. If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.
The match against Brisbane Heat was the last game for Andre Russell in BBL11. The 33-year-old was signed on a short-term deal and he proved to be solid without making a startling impression for Melbourne Stars in the early stages of the season. Russell, however, has vowed to return to the Big Bash League in the near future.
Perth Scorchers look like the most balanced team in the Big Bash League this season. Their openers, top order, middle order, pace bowling and spin bowling unit look to be in sync and have gotten the job done. Mitchell Marsh has been playing like a man possessed and he’s become the most in-form match-winner in the league. Marsh picked up the third player of the match award in his fourth match this season against Melbourne Renegades.
Melbourne Stars will expect more from the trio of Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell and Adam Zampa. Although they’ve shone in bits and pieces, their outstanding quality hasn’t brought consistent returns for the team.
Game changers for Perth Scorchers vs Melbourne Stars, 27
th
Match BBL 2021/22
All eyes will be on Perth Scorchers’ talisman Mitchell Marsh who is going through a beautiful purple patch in his career. Everything Mitch Marsh touches, turns into gold and he proved to be the match-winner in the previous match against Melbourne Renegades as well.
Melbourne Stars got back to a winning route against Brisbane Heat in the last game. However, they are the dark horses going into this match and their players will have to step up if they wish to avoid a defeat here.
Who will be the best match bowler?
Andrew Tye has been absolutely wonderful for Perth Scorchers. He’s the joint highest wicket-taker in the league this season and has collected 10 wickets in six games already. Tye also has an economy rate of 7.66 and has a bowling average of 16.10. He has also been supported well by teammate Ashton Agar who also joins him at the top of the bowling charts with 10 wickets at an average of 16.30.
Who will win today’s man of the match?
Mitchell Marsh is likely to be the man of the match here as well. He has been in top form with both the bat as well as the ball. Marsh has won the award three times already having played just four matches.
Who will be the best batsman for Perth Scorchers?
Despite missing two matches at the beginning of the season, Mitchell Marsh has already climbed to second position in the Big Bash League top-scorers’ chart. He has amassed 249 runs in four games at a mind-blowing average of 124.50. Marsh has not only played long knocks, but he’s also been able to finish games for his side. He has a strike rate of 149.10.
Who will be the best batsman for Melbourne Stars?
Hilton Cartwright has emerged as the most reliable name in the Melbourne Stars batting unit that includes the likes of Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell. Cartwright supported Joe Clarke well in the last match with 79 runs off 44 deliveries. That took his season’s tally to 203 runs in six matches at an average of 40.60 and at a strike rate of 151.49.
