A consistent and high-flying Perth Scorchers square off against a resurgent Sydney Thunder in the 36
th
match of this Big Bash League (BBL) 2021-22. The Carrara Oval in Queensland will be the venue for this game.
Perth Scorchers have been in fabulous form and have been one of the best sides in this competition so far. They are sitting pretty at the top of the points table with 25 points – seven wins and a loss. Their only loss has come against Sydney Thunder. Hence, the ‘Men in Orange’ will be looking to pull one back.
Sydney Thunder had an inconsistent start to this season. They lost two out of their first three games but since then, they have won four out of their last five which includes three wins in a row. With 19 points (five wins and three losses), Sydney Thunder are currently placed third. A win in this game will help them close down the gap between them and the top two.
It is even stevens at the moment as far as head to head records are concerned. Both Perth Scorchers and Sydney Thunder have won seven games each while Sydney Thunder have won three out of the last five encounters between these two sides.

Who will win today’s match Perth Scorchers vs Sydney Thunder, 36
th
Match BBL 2021/22??
After the loss against Sydney Thunder, Perth Scorchers got back on track with a win over Melbourne Stars. In the absence of the talismanic Mitchell Marsh who has been called up in the Australian Test side for the fourth Test at the SCG, the Perth batters still racked up 180 which shows the depth. The likes of Colin Munro, Kurtis Patterson and the others have made significant scores. The bowling has been excellent and almost every bowler that has played (Ashton Agar, Andrew Tye, Jason Behrendorff, Tymal Mills and Peter Hatzoglou) have played a big part in the success of the Perth Scorchers this season.
On the other hand, Sydney Thunder’s batting has been in good nick. Jason Sangha and Sam Billings have been the dominant ones in that line-up and they’ve done the bulk of the scoring in the last few games. Matthew Gilkes has made decent contributions which includes 93 in the last game against Adelaide Strikers. Ben Cutting has looked good after moving to the top of the order. Meanwhile, Saqib Mahmood and Daniel Sams have been amongst the wickets.
