Match Prediction – Peshawar Zalmi vs Lahore Qalandars, 9
th
Match Pakistan Super League 2022
Peshawar Zalmi will face Lahore Qalandars in the ninth match of the Pakistan Super League. While Both sides have won and lost a game each and will be battling to achieve consistency in the early stages of the campaign.
Peshawar Zalmi began their PSL 2022 campaign with a solid win over Quetta Gladiators in the last over. However, they failed to keep up the momentum and ended up losing their next fixture against Islamabad United by nine wickets.
With the exception of Sherfane Rutherford who played a tremendous knock lower down the order, the Peshawar Zalmi batting order looked pedestrian. They could only muster a score of 168/6. The bowling unit proved to be extremely ineffective as Paul Stirling and Alex Hales ran riot during the run-chase. Peshawar was always second best in the game and will look for a way to bounce back from a heavy loss.
Lahore Qalandars, meanwhile, suffered a heart-breaking loss in the final over in their season opener against Multan Sultans. Despite scoring 206 runs, they lost their bearings in the final stages and failed to defend the total. However, they bounced back strongly in the next game against Karachi Kings and showed plenty of resolve to secure the victory in the final over.
Haris Rauf rocked Karachi Kings with a three-wicket-haul while Mohammad Hafeez, Shaheen Afridi, Rashid Khan and Zaman Khan all picked up a wicket each. Fakhar Zaman led the runchase for his side with a spectacular century and single-handedly led them to a fantastic win. Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi are next to each other in the PSL 2022 table.
Peshawar Zalmi hold the advantage and have won more matches than Lahore Qalandars. They have won eight of the 13 matches played between the two teams while Lahore Qalandars have won on five occasions. With that being said however, Lahore Qalandars have won all of the last four matches played between the two teams.
