Match Prediction – RCB vs KKR, 6th Match IPL 2022 – Who Will Win Today’s Match?
Royal Challengers Bangalore will be up against Kolkata Knight Riders in the sixth match of IPL 2022 at the D Y Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. RCB began their campaign with a loss to PBKS in a high-scoring thriller while KKR defeated four-time champions CSK in their opening fixture.
Royal Challengers Bangalore got off to a flying start with the bat in their first match. New captain Faf du Plessis began cautiously but then accelerated extremely well to finish on 88 runs, thus becoming the highest scoring overseas player on IPL captaincy debut. Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik also played a few handy shots to help RCB register the first 200+ score this season.
However, their bowling unit failed to restrict the Punjab Kings onslaught. It began with openers Shikhar Dhawan and Mayank Agarwal providing a commanding start while Bhanuka Rajapaksa also took the bowling unit to the cleaners. The dismissals of Raj Bawa and Liam Livingstone stalled their attempts momentarily before Odean Smith tonked several boundaries and sixes to help PBKS complete their joint-highest run-chase in IPL history.
Kolkata Knight Riders, meanwhile, exacted revenge following their IPL 2021 final defeat to Chennai Super Kings in the season opener. KKR got the perfect start that they’d have wanted with Umesh Yadav wreaking havoc. CSK continued to lose wickets at regular intervals and with pressure mounting, it was the legendary MS Dhoni who scored a half-century to take CSK to a respectable score of 131/5. Umesh Yadav was the pick among the bowlers with a spell of 2/20 while Sunil Narine conceded only 15 runs in his four overs.
The KKR run-chase was led by opener Ajinkya Rahane who got out on 44. Nitish Rana, Shreyas Iyer and Sam Billings also chalked up important contributions to secure a straightforward run-chase. The two-time champions ended up winning by six wickets to begin their campaign on a strong note.
Kolkata Knight Riders have the advantage in head-to-head encounters against Royal Challengers Bangalore. KKR have won 16 matches while RCB have 13 wins to their name. RCB have, however, won three of the last five matches between the two teams.

Despite putting in a fantastic shift with the bat, RCB weren’t able to capitalize because of poor performances with the ball. Meanwhile, KKR’s bowling unit wasn’t tested because of CSK’s dismal batting. Therefore, the side who bowls better in this match will come out on top. Kolkata Knight Riders might have a minor advantage because of tight eight overs in the middle that they get out of Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy.

Match IPL 2022
Faf du Plessis was the star of the show for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening match and he fell 12 runs short of a century. Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik also looked in good touch. However, the duo of Mohammed Siraj and Harshal Patel will have to bowl better.
Kolkata Knight Riders, meanwhile, will have to make do without the services of Aaron Finch and Pat Cummins. Both the Australian players are currently in Pakistan and will not be available for the first five matches of IPL 2022. This could pose a significant problem for the franchise. Shreyas Iyer has been in excellent form with the bat and the likes of Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy have bowled really well.
