Match Prediction – RCB vs MI, 18th Match IPL 2022 – Who Will Win Today’s Match?
Royal Challengers Bangalore will be up against Mumbai Indians in the 18
th
match of IPL 2022 at the MCA Stadium in Pune. RCB have won two of their three matches so far while MI are still looking for their first win of the competition.
Royal Challengers Bangalore bounced back from the demoralizing defeat to Punjab Kings in the opening match and bounced back with wins in consecutive matches. They defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by three wickets in a closely fought contest and then got the better of Rajasthan Royals recently.
RCB bowlers, led by another fantastic Harshal Patel spell, did well to restrict the Royals to a score of 169/3 in 20 overs. Even with wickets in hand, RR couldn’t aim for a bigger score. Faf du Plessis and Anuj Rawat also gave them the start that they desired in the run-chase and stitched 55 runs together for the first wicket.
However, RCB suffered a barrage of dismissals after that and it was only when Shahbaz Ahmed was joined by Dinesh Karthik at the crease that the screw began to turn. Shahbaz finished with a knock of 45 at a strike rate of 173 while Dinesh Karthik smacked 44* at a strike rate of 191.30 to guide RCB to victory in the final over. They are now sixth in the table with four points. RCB have a net run rate of +0.159.
Things keep getting from bad to worse for Mumbai Indians who have now suffered three losses on the bounce. They are second from bottom in the IPL 2022 table and are yet to open their account. MI have a terrible net run rate of -1.362.
In their latest match against Kolkata Knight Riders, the batting unit failed to recover after a cautious start. Despite Suryakumar Yadav’s best efforts on his return from injury, MI could only manage 161 runs. Although the bowling unit did well to peg back KKR with regular wickets, they had no answers to the carnage unleashed by Pat Cummins.
The Australian Test captain smacked the joint-fastest fifty in IPL history and remained not out on 56 from 15 to secure a thrilling victory for KKR with six overs remaining. Cummins’ knock included four fours and six sixes and he had earlier taken two wickets in the game.
Mumbai Indians hold the head-to-head advantage against Royal Challengers Bangalore. They have won 19 matches while RCB have 12 wins to their name. RCB, however, won both the matches against MI last season.

Game changers for Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Mumbai Indians, 18
th
Match IPL 2022
RCB will be able to welcome back Glenn Maxwell in the middle order once again. The Australian all-rounder was sensational for them last season and he will be expected to have a similar impact this time around as well.
Suryakumar Yadav’s return did wonders to bolster an under-firing MI middle-order. Suryakumar scored a half-century in his very first match after returning and MI will expect more support from other batters around him.
Who will be the best match bowler?
Harshal Patel has been on song in IPL 2022 so far. He has picked up four wickets in three matches at a wonderful average of 16.25. He has also kept an astounding economy rate of 5.42 which makes him indispensable.
Who will win today’s man of the match?
Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik and Glenn Maxwell will be looking to have a major impact with the bat while Harshal Patel and Wanindu Hasaranga are expected to run proceedings with the ball. The return of Pat Cummins also looks to be promising. For MI, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma have been in outstanding form. Jasprit Bumrah will be key as usual.
Who will be the best batsman for Royal Challengers Bangalore?
Dinesh Karthik has been the best finisher in IPL 2022 so far and he has fit the RCB side like a glove. He has scored 90 runs in three matches and is yet to be dismissed. His strike rate of 204.55 is an important asset for the side.
Who will be the best batsman for Mumbai Indians?
Suryakumar Yadav looked at his majestic best even after returning from injury in the last match. The middle-order batter slammed 52 runs at a strike rate of 144.44 and will be looking to have a major impact on proceedings once again.
