Despite having their backs to the wall, the Orange Army endured a nightmare of a run-chase. They were reduced to 14/3 inside the first six overs – the joint-lowest Powerplay score in IPL history. Although Aiden Markram (57) and Washington Sundar (40) showed significant resistance, they could do little to influence the match as SRH ended up losing by 61 runs.

Lucknow Super Giants, meanwhile, overcame all odds to beat Chennai Super Kings in their most recent encounter. LSG had lost their first match against Gujarat Titans but showed tremendous spirit and determination against the defending champions. Even though CSK scored 210 runs thanks to Robin Uthappa (50) and Shivam Dube (49), it did not faze the LSG side.

KL Rahul (40) and Quinton de Kock (61) gave them a wonderful start before Evin Lewis wreaked havoc and remained not out on 55 from 23. He was joined by sensational youngster Ayush Badoni who also remained unbeaten on 19 from 9 and managed to impress for the second consecutive game. Lucknow won the game in the penultimate over and with six wickets in hand!
