Match Prediction – SRH vs RCB, 54th Match IPL 2022 – Who Will Win Today’s Match?
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are set to face the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the first game of the double-header day on Sunday (May 8) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). The Kane Williamson-led side is struggling a bit having lost their last three matches while their opponents are coming into this game after arresting their losing streak with a win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Chasing has turned out to be a problem for SRH this season. They have lost all their five matches while batting second and all the wins have come defending totals. Even in the previous game, they fell short by 21 runs in the pursuit of 208 runs posted by Delhi Capitals. More often, their bowlers have conceded a lot of runs while bowling first and that has led to them losing their touch.
SRH are currently at the sixth position in the points table with five wins and as many losses in 10 games so far. Injuries to key bowlers like Washington Sundar and T Natarajan haven’t helped their cause either and the Orange Army will have to resurrect their season soon.
RCB, on the other hand, found their groove finally against CSK in the previous game. Faf du Plessis seemed to be finding some form while the bowlers also did extremely well to defend 173. The likes of Harshal Patel, Wanindu Hasaranga and Josh Hazlewood have been crucial in the team’s success.
RCB are currently at the fourth position with 12 points to their name and have no option but to win all their remaining games given their poor NRR. A loss will lead to a lot of complexity for them in terms of making it to the playoffs.
The fact that RCB’s net run-rate is second worst among all teams is due to SRH itself whose bowlers ran through their line-up in the previous face-off. Marco Jansen was the wrecker in-chief picking up three wickets in a single over as RCB were skittled for just 68 runs. The loss was start of their three-match losing streak too.
Head-to-head record

Who will win today’s match – Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bangalore, 54th Match IPL 2022?
Not long ago, SRH were on a five-match winnin streak and seemed unbeatable at one stage as well. But momentum tends to change quickly in IPL and the same has happened with them. SRH have had a wood over RCB in the last few encounters having won four out of previous five face-offs.
However, RCB are looking a more rounded unit than SRH thanks to the availability of all key players. The Du Plessis-led side is the favourite to win this game as they will be oozing with confidence after beating their nemesis CSK in their erstwhile outing. Check more details on these two teams in the
RCB vs SRH prediction.
Game changers for Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bangalore, 54th Match IPL 2022
Glenn Maxwell will be itching to play a big knock after getting run-out in the last game. A lot of momentum rests on him as the Aussie all-rounder bats at either three or four. Moreover, with the pitches getting slower and slower, Maxwell’s part-time off-spin will also play a big role for RCB.
Pace bowling has been SRH’s forte this season and they have done well whenever put under pressure. Umran Malik has leaked a lot of runs in the two games after registering a sensational five-wicket haul. He will be keen on making a positive impact with his pace yet again and help his side return to winning ways.
Who will be the best match bowler?
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has quietly gone about his job this season for SRH. As a senior player, he has stood up and taken responsibility. He might have picked up only 10 wickets in as many matches, but his economy of 7.17 has allowed his skipper Kane Williamson to gain early control in the innings. Expect the veteran to step up once again with the new ball.
Who will win today’s man of the match?
Virat Kohli is certainly due a big innings now. He is finding his touch slowly but steadily given the way he has played in the last two matches. Interestingly, spin is turning out to be his nemesis but the champion batter is known to overcome his struggles and come out on top.
Who will be the best batsman for Sunrisers Hyderabad?
Aiden Markram’s inclusion in the SRH middle order has been refreshing. He has played his role almost to the perfection scoring runs more often than not. He is the second-highest run-scorer for them having scored 305 runs at a strike-rate of 151.74 and an average of 76.25.
Who will be the best batsman for Royal Challengers Bangalore?
Virat Kohli has so far scored 216 runs in 11 matches at an average of 21.6. But he has scored 88 runs in two outings and is finding his touch back. However, his strike-rate of 111.91 is under the scanner and this might be the perfect game for him to make his presence felt.
