The Adelaide Oval will be the host and it is just the second game of this season at this venue. While Adelaide Strikers have been scratchy, they have found some good form in the last few games. Perth Scorchers are yet to register a win in this tournament so far.
Adelaide Strikers have played five games so far and have lost a couple of them, both while chasing targets in excess of 150. Apart from that, they have been very good. In fact, the bowlers have been the ones who have starred in each of the wins. Hobart Hurricanes were kept to 146 allout which allowed the first win. Then came the thrilling two-run win over Brisbane Heat before thumping Perth Scorchers by 71 runs. Thus, the Alex Carey-led side will look to continue the momentum.
On the other hand, Perth Scorchers have lost three out of their four games and the other game was washed out. It has been their batting that has been disappointing. They’ve batted first three times (including the game that was washed out which saw them play out 20 overs) and they haven’t gone past the 160-run mark even once. And in their last game against Adelaide Strikers, they were shot out for a mere 94. Thus, time may well be running out and Perth Scorchers need to pull up their socks.
Team news: Adelaide Strikers
Ryan Gibson was ruled out due to a hamstring injury a few games back and he is still unavailable. Meanwhile, the Adelaide Strikers have not chopped and changed a lot. In fact, nine of their players have played all five games so far in this BBL edition. Thus, more of the same can be expected for this game and barring any injuries or last-minute inclusions, Adelaide Strikers are likely to field the same playing XI.
Team news: Perth Scorchers
England white-ball opening batsman Jason Roy and Liam Livingstone have finished their quarantine and joined the squad ahead of the last game. They even played the last game against Adelaide Strikers and both of them got 20s. There are no injury concerns and Perth Scorchers may not make any changes despite the heavy loss in their last game.
Adelaide Strikers : Jake Weatherald, Philip Salt, Matt Renshaw, Alex Carey (c & wk), Jonathan Wells, Matthew Short, Rashid Khan, Daniel Worrall, Danny Briggs, Peter Siddle, Wes Agar
Perth Scorchers : Jason Roy, Josh Inglis (wk), Colin Munro, Liam Livingstone, Mitchell Marsh, Ashton Turner (c), Aaron Hardie, Jhye Richardson, Andrew Tye, Jason Behrendorff, Fawad Ahmed
Key players
Rashid Khan : The Afghanistan superstar has got into his groove as this BBL 10 has progressed. In his last couple of games, Rashid Khan has picked up two wickets apiece and has kept things really tight. He is increasingly becoming difficult to read from the hand and off the surface as well as teams have started playing him out rather than going out on the attack against him. Moreover, with the bat, he has chipped in with vital contributions and is striking at 153.12 in this tournament. Hence, the Afghanistan leg-spinner will be the one to watch out for once again.

Jason Roy : It may have just been one innings and that too in a losing cause but the way Jason Roy was striking the ball showed he is in great touch. Perth Scorchers haven’t had the best of times with the bat. In fact, even after four complete batting innings, none of their players have aggregated 100 or more runs in this BBL. Thus, Roy’s inclusion at the top adds some teeth and he will be a key player for Perth Scorchers.
