Delhi Capitals proved too good for Rajasthan Royals in the first double-header this weekend.
RR’s batsmen struggled to find their footing against the DC bowlers, except for skipper Sanju Samson, who remained unbeaten on 70.
DC didn’t need too many runs on the board as their bowlers managed to provide a decent backup, and each bowler contributed with wickets.
The win sees DC move level on points with Chennai Super Kings after 10 games, with a place in the playoffs looking extremely possible.

Match Prediction – DC vs RR, 36th Match IPL 2021 – Who Will Win Today’s Match?
The Delhi Capitals changed their name in 2019. They were previously known as the Delhi Daredevils. The franchise is making moves to improve, and that is going to make
DC vs RR
meetings in the future far more interesting. The Capitals are yet even to contest the IPL final, while the Rajasthan Royals do have a win to their name, although that was over a decade ago.
It is the first afternoon game of this second half of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Both Delhi Capitals (DC) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) are coming off wins from their last game.
Delhi Capitals continued from where they left off in the first half. They recorded a commanding and comprehensive win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to surge to the top of the points table once again. They restricted SRH to just 134/9 in 20 overs before chasing it down with ease. Delhi hunted it down with 13 balls to spare and eight wickets in hand. It was a clinical effort where most boxes were ticked. With the return of Shreyas Iyer at No. 3 and Ravichandran Ashwin in the spin department, Delhi are looking even stronger.
On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals may believe they got out of jail in their game against Punjab Kings. Karthik Tyagi bowled a magnificent final over where he defended four runs and conceded just one while picking up two wickets. Mustafizur Rahman was superb in the penultimate over as well. RR stole victory from the jaws of defeat as they defended a total of eight runs in the last two overs. The batting line-up looks quite solid. It did fade away a touch towards the death but it may be brushed aside as a one-off. With the ball, they did blow hot and cold and will need to get a bit more consistent.
There isn’t much too separate the two teams on the overall head to head record count. Rajasthan Royals have won 12 while Delhi Capitals have won 11.
Marcus Stoinis was injured while bowling in the game against SRH and he pulled out after completing 1.1 overs. His injury could be an issue and that may disrupt the balance of the side as his bowling is crucial for DC. Steve Smith or Sam Billings could replace him if he isn’t fit. If DC go in search of a sixth bowler, Lalit Yadav could be considered.
Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals are unlikely to make any changes from the side that played the last game against Punjab Kings.
Evin Lewis
: Evin Lewis has been batting beautifully this year. He has been quite consistent in T20 cricket and has got big runs regularly. The left-handed opener was in top form in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) as well where he scored 426 runs at an average of 47.33 and a strike-rate of 163.21. Lewis also looked in solid touch in the game against Punjab Kings. He put on 36 off 21 balls in a knock that included seven fours and a six. Hence, he will be the key at the top of the order once again for RR.
Shikhar Dhawan
: Shikhar Dhawan has been supremely consistent in the IPL over the last few years. He has been the rock for DC at the top of the order and has consistently got substantial scores throughout this competition. Moreover, his intent in the powerplay has only got better in the last couple of years. The Delhi left-hander has aggregated 422 runs at an average of 52.75 and is leading the run charts this season.
