Delhi Capitals regained their spot at the top of the IPL table with an eight-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad.
DC’s bowlers were on point as they restricted SRH to just 134, with Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje impressing the most.
David Warner’s duck in the first over certainly put a damper on things, and the middle order tried to put together a decent score, but DC were just too good for them.

Losing Warner on the third ball of the first over weakened SRH right at the start
Abdul Samad’s 28 was the highest individual total for SRH compared to DC, who scored a pair of half-centuries

Match Prediction – DC vs SRH, 33rd Match IPL 2021 – Who Will Win Today’s Match?
Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are the last ones to get off the block in the second half of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). These two teams had contrasting fortunes during the first half of the tournament.
When the tournament came to an abrupt end back in May 2021, DC finished at the top of the points table. They have won six out of their eight games so far and are very well placed to make it to the playoffs. Their batting clicked wonderfully as the openers Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan did the bulk of the scoring. Rishabh Pant, Steve Smith, and Shimron Hetmyer chipped in with useful knocks as well.
Meanwhile, Avesh Khan led the charge with the bat, and despite blowing a touch hot and cold, Kagiso Rabada was an able ally. Axar Patel and Amit Mishra were excellent, too. Now, with the return of Shreyas Iyer and Ravichandran Ashwin, DC’s side is even more bolstered.
On the other hand, SRH are reeling at the bottom of the points table. They have recorded a mere one win from seven games and that win came against Punjab Kings. The pace attack has misfired and their entire bowling set-up has been heavily reliant on Rashid Khan.
Meanwhile, Jonny Bairstow, who was their best batsman in the initial phase, has pulled out for the remainder of the tournament. That messes with the balance of SRH’s team as they not only lost a top batsman but also lost a wicket-keeper. The team desperately need to turn things around and need to win almost every game from hereon to make it to the top four.
Chris Woakes pulled out of the second half of this IPL 2021 and Ben Dwarshuis has been named as his replacement. Shreyas Iyer and Ravichandran Ashwin return to the side and will be available for selection immediately. But with Iyer’s return, Smith might miss out, however, that will allow DC to reunite Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje alongside Avesh Khan in the pace department.
Team News: Sunrisers Hyderabad
SRH’s leading run-getter this season Jonny Bairstow decided to skip the rest of the tournament, and Sherfane Rutherford was announced as his replacement. David Warner who sat out the last game SRH played is likely to return to the starting XI. Wriddhiman Saha will most probably don the gloves and may open the batting as well.
Sunrisers Hyderabad:
David Warner, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson (c), Kedar Jadhav/Vijay Shankar, Mohammad Nabi/Jason Holder, Abdul Samad, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed
Key Players
Avesh Khan
: Avesh Khan was very impressive during the first half of the 2021 edition of the IPL. The Madhya Pradesh fast bowler has picked up 14 wickets in eight encounters and had an economy rate of 7.70.
Avesh has a bowling strike-rate of 12.8
The 24-year-old will be a key player for DC
He bowled well in almost all the stages of the game and has become DC’s premier Indian fast bowler.
David Warner
: David Warner has been one of the best batsmen in the IPL for the last few years. The left-handed opener has been absolutely dominant and he finished at the top of the run charts (winning the Orange Cap) as many as three times since the start of 2015.
Warner has scored 500+ runs since his move to SRH in 2014
The Australian is definitely one to watch this IPL
This season, he has mustered 193 runs at an average of 32.17. These are middling returns and he wasn’t at his fluent best, but with Bairstow absent, Warner will be critical for SRH.
