Kolkata Knight Riders retained their No 4 spot on the IPL points table after restricting Delhi Capitals to a small total.
Despite losing wickets throughout the innings, KKR were never under any serious pressure, making sure the lower order didn’t have too much to do as they chased down 127.
Sunil Narine was the player of the match, contributing with a nifty 21 from 10 balls, and picking up two wickets in his four overs.

Shikhar Dhawan’s five fours in 16 balls ensured KKR made the most of the powerplay

Match Prediction – KKR vs DC, 41st Match IPL 2021 – Who Will Win Today’s Match?
With two IPL title wins to their name, the Kolkata Knight Riders get a lot of interest from fans all over the world. That interest will ensure that this
DC vs KKR matchup
is one watched by many cricket fans. While the Knight Riders have been there and done it before twice, the Delhi Capitals are yet to taste any IPL success.
It is the third afternoon game of the second half of the 2021 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) square off against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Sharjah fun88in.in Stadium where the pitch has behaved indifferently. The boundaries are short, but the pitches have been sluggish in nature. It is the first game of this season at this venue for both KKR and DC.
KKR have had a rousing start to the UAE leg of the IPL 2021. They were clinical in the first couple of games where they beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and their nemesis Mumbai Indians (MI) to gain some early momentum. The bowling fired and set up the game before the top-order wrapped up the run-chases. However, they did receive a small jolt against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as they lost a last-ball thriller while defending 171. The Eoin Morgan-led side will be looking to brush that loss aside and get back to winning ways.
DC are in phenomenal form this season and have extended their winning run to four matches. Overall, they have eight wins and have lost just two games so far in this tournament. While they may not have officially qualified for the playoffs, no team has not qualified for the knockouts in an eight-team IPL tournament after having 16 points. Delhi’s batting has looked solid, but it is the bowling that has really dominated. They have a superb attack that has all bases covered. Another win will seal their playoffs spot (officially) and another couple of wins could well confirm their spot in the top-two.
The head to head record is in favour of KKR who lead 14-12 but DC have won five out of the last six games between these two sides.
KKR may have lost their last game against CSK, but they are unlikely to make any changes in this game. They seem to have found a balanced and effective combination and are most probably going to back that.
Delhi Capitals
Marcus Stoinis injured his hamstring in the game against SRH and missed the last game. There hasn’t been any update on his fitness yet and he is unlikely to feature in this game. DC will most probably go into this encounter unchanged and continue with three overseas players.
Venkatesh Iyer
: Venkatesh Iyer has brought a breath of fresh air at the top of the order for KKR.
112 runs at a strike-rate of 155.55
The left-handed batsman has looked comfortable against both pace and spin
His fiery starts have helped KKR get some early momentum which the middle-order can make use of. Thus, Iyer will continue to be the key for KKR at the top of the order as they look to make a late surge and push for a case in the top four.
Anrich Nortje
: Anrich Nortje has been superb in the last couple of years for DC. He has played all his IPL games in the UAE, and he has been very consistent.
Four wickets in two games so far this season
Nortje has an efficient economy rate of 3.75
The 27-year-old fast bowler has consistently sent down thunderbolts and has cranked up some extreme pace, rattling and rushing the opposition for sheer pace.
