Shubham Gill was instrumental in guiding Kolkata Knight Riders to a six-wicket run over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday evening.
KKR came into the match hoping to boost their chances of qualifying for the playoffs and needed a win make that happen. Eoin Morgan’s side restricted SRH to a mere 115 in 20 overs, and while the men in purple seemed to struggle a bit, Gill’s 57 from 51 ensured his side made it through.

Match Prediction – KKR vs SRH, 49th Match IPL 2021 – Who Will Win Today’s Match?
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 49
th
match of the 2021 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). While KKR are still in contention for the playoffs, SRH are looking to avoid the wooden spoon.
KKR have been playing exciting fun88 in the UAE leg of the tournament. However, two losses from their last three games have dented their chances of making it to the top four. The KKR top-order has fired and they have laid the foundation more often than not. However, the middle-order has been a touch wobbly and the form of skipper Eoin Morgan is a concern.
Meanwhile, the spin duo of Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy have been excellent and the overseas pacers have fared well. Indian pacers like Prasidh Krishna, Sandeep Warrier and Shivam Mavi have been tried and none of them have really nailed down their spot nor performed consistently.
With two games to go, KKR need to win both their remaining encounters and they also need to hope that MI lose at least one more game.
On the other hand, SRH are out of the race for the playoffs. They have lost as many as nine games in this season and have just two wins to their name. The Indian bowlers’ form has been a big worry, especially that of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Be it in the powerplay or at the death, the ace Indian pacer has looked out of sorts.
SRH haven’t stepped up with the bat either. In the second phase of the IPL, they have finished with a total of less than 140 in three out of the four games. In the other game, they chased down 165 and that was the only game they won in this second half.

Team News
Kolkata Knight Riders
KKR will be sweating over the fitness of Andre Russell and Lockie Ferguson. While Russell may be out for longer, Ferguson could make a comeback as it was a niggle that he suffered a couple of games ago. Moreover, Tim Seifert might make way for Shakib Al Hasan which gives KKR a proper fifth bowling option.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
Khaleel Ahmed has missed a few games due to injury and there hasn’t been any update on him. Despite the loss, SRH may not make a lot of changes to their line-up that played against CSK.
Predicted XI
