Match Prediction IPL 2021: RR vs CSK, Match 47 Preview
Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have had contrasting runs in this 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and even in the UAE leg of the tournament. CSK are sitting pretty at the top of the points table while RR are second-last and are on the verge of elimination.
RR have been poor in this tournament. They fared well in the first half and finished with three wins and four losses but in this UAE leg, they have had just one win and have now lost three games in a row. It could well have been four losses in a row if it had not been for the heist, they pulled off against Punjab Kings when they defended eight runs in the last two overs. RR’s batting has been top-heavy and the middle-order hasn’t fired at all. Meanwhile, the bowling has been inconsistent and the spinners just haven’t performed. Now, with three games to go, they will need to win each of the games to remain in contention for the playoffs.
On the other hand, CSK became the first team to qualify for the playoffs this season. The MS Dhoni-led side have won nine games and have lost just two. The top-order has been supremely consistent while the middle-order has fared well too. Meanwhile, the bowling has delivered and got the job done. Having qualified for the knockouts, CSK will look to continue the momentum as they aim to seal a spot in the top-two which will give them two shots at the final.

Team News
Team news: Rajasthan Royals
RR are struggling but they may not make too many changes. Chris Morris has looked off-colour and has barely looked threatening with the ball nor has contributed with the bat. Hence, Tabraiz Shamsi could get a look in place of his country-mate.
Team news: Chennai Super Kings
Dwayne Bravo had a few niggles before the game against KKR but he was fit and played the game against SRH. The rest of the side is fit and CSK are unlikely to make any changes.
Chennai Super Kings:
Ruturaj Gaikwad, Faf du Plessis, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni (c & wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Josh Hazlewood
Key players
Evin Lewis
: Evin Lewis has looked in solid touch at the top of the order for RR in this UAE leg. The left-handed opener has got 100 runs in three games and is striking 161.29. In two out of the three games, he has provided RR with brisk starts. Lewis scored 36 off 21 balls against Punjab Kings and 58 off 37 balls against Royal Challengers Bangalore and in both of those games, RR scored in excess of 50 runs in the powerplay. With the middle-order mis-firing and a lot of responsibility on Sanju Samson, Lewis will be crucial at the top of the order.
Dwayne Bravo
: Dwayne Bravo has been in excellent form with the ball and has constantly been amongst the wickets in this UAE leg of this IPL 2021. The veteran West Indian all-rounder took just three wickets in the first half but he has turned things around beautifully. He has picked up eight wickets in just three games. He has returned with figures of 3/25, 3/24 and 2/17 in those three games and completed his quota of overs as well. In addition to this, his lower-order batting is always handy.
