KKR are ahead with 15 wins compared to RCB’s 12 in RCB vs KKR head to head count. However, the Virat Kohli-led side has won the last three encounters between these two sides.
fun88in.in Betting
It is the first afternoon game of the season and it is Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) who will be taking on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match number 10. It’ll be the second successive game (in less than 16 hours) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The two sides had contrasting results at the Chepauk as one team applied the choke and the other succumbed to it (both against different opponents though).
RCB will be extremely pleased with the way they have started this tournament. It is only the second time in the history of the IPL that Virat Kohli and co have kicked off a particular season with two wins in a row. What will please RCB more is that they were able to come out of pressure situations and find ways to get the job done. In both games, RCB were put under pressure but they found new heroes.
The bowling has been excellent and they have applied the breaks magnificently, especially at the death. The sluggish nature of the tracks have helped but the execution has been very good. Moreover, RCB won a game defending 35 runs in the last four overs against SRH who had eight wickets in hand. Glenn Maxwell has stepped up beautifully and has made vital contributions. The big two Kohli and AB de Villiers have performed well too. Thus, things seem to be gelling well for the three-time finalists.
Meanwhile, KKR will be kicking themselves for not getting over the line against MI. With 31 required off the last five overs with six wickets in hand, they had the game in their pocket and should’ve strolled through to the target of 153. But they made a meal of a simple run-chase and wasted a golden opportunity of being two wins in two games.
However, Eoin Morgan and co will need to forget that agonising loss and move ahead. Their top-order has fired in both games and the middle-order looks a touch wobbly. The experienced trio of Eoin Morgan, Andre Russell and Dinesh Karthik need to stand up and deliver. The bowling has done fairly well.

Adam Zampa and Kane Richardson have completed their quarantine and have joined the RCB squad. Meanwhile, Daniel Sams who tested positive for COVID-19 a couple of days before the start of the tournament is not yet out of quarantine and may miss this game as well. RCB are unlikely to make any significant changes to their winning combination.
Team news: Kolkata Knight Riders
KKR don’t have any injury concerns at the moment. All players are fit and available for this game. They also may not make any changes to the playing XI that faced MI.
Predicted XI
Royal Challengers Bangalore: Virat Kohli (c), Devdutt Padikkal, Shahbaz Ahmed, Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers (wk), Washington Sundar, Daniel Christian, Kyle Jamieson, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal
Kolkata Knight Riders: Nitish Rana, Shubman Gill, Rahul Tripathi, Eoin Morgan (c), Andre Russell, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Shakib Al Hasan, Pat Cummins, Pawan Negi/Harbhajan Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Varun Chakravarthy
Key players
Yuzvendra Chahal : Over the years, Yuzvendra Chahal has been a key component of the RCB bowling attack. In fact, on multiple occasions, the Haryana leg-spinner has carried the RCB bowling almost single-handedly. However, he hasn’t had a great start this season. He has gone wicketless in both games and has an economy rate of 8.75.
Chahal is a quality bowler and it may not have been evident with RCB’s two wins so far, but the leg-spinner is critical to RCB’s chances. His form will be important going forward.
Andre Russell : Andre Russell hasn’t been in the best of forms this season but he loves playing against RCB. The hard-hitting Jamaican all-rounder has amassed 339 runs at an average of 48.43 and a stunning strike-rate of 223.03. He may have registered just one half-century against them but he has seven 30+ scores.
Moreover, Russell has played some match-defining knocks against RCB and has tormented Virat Kohli and co. Thus, he will be looking to roar back into form against one of his favourite opponents.
