Post Match Summary SRH vs CSK, Match 44

Chennai Super Kings became the first team to reach the playoffs of IPL 2021 after beating Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday evening.

CSK managed to restrict RCB to a mere 135, and managed to get over the finish line with two balls to spare. Faf du Plessis (41) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (45) gave CSK a brilliant start before quick cameos from Ambati Rayudu (17* off 13) and skipper Dhoni (14* off 11) helped Chennai to a six-wicket win.

Meanwhile, SRH are now out of contention after slipping to their ninth loss this season, and sit bottom of the table, with just four points from 11 games.

Match Prediction – SRH vs CSK, 44th Match IPL 2021 – Who Will Win Today’s Match?

Here are two teams at contrasting ends of the spectrum on the points table. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are reeling at the bottom of the points table while Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are soaring high at the top.

SRH finally put an end to a five-match losing streak as they beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their last game. The Kane Williamson-led side underwent a major overhaul as they dropped a few big players and loaded the side with youngsters. Jason Roy’s inclusion at the top helped as he top-scored with 60 while skipper Williamson was back amongst the runs as well. Also, the bowling unit fared better than the previous encounters. However, SRH are almost out of the race for the playoffs and only have a mathematical chance of sneaking into the top four.

On the other hand, CSK are in fabulous form and are yet to lose a game in this second half of this IPL 2021. They have eight wins from 10 games and are sitting pretty at the top of the points table. A couple of more wins could well seal a spot in the top-two for them. The top-order batting has been brilliant while the bowling has come together really nicely as well.

Besides, CSK have an overwhelming head to head record against SRH. Out of the 15 games that these two sides have played in the IPL, CSK have won 11 and SRH have won just four.

Team News

Sunrisers Hyderabad

David Warner has confirmed that he is unlikely to play any part in the rest of the tournament. Tom Moody also indicated that they are looking to give youngsters some experience and game time. Khaleel Ahmed is out with injury and Siddarth Kaul replaced him. But the latter didn’t look threatening enough and could be replaced by Basil Thampi if Khaleel is still unfit.

Chennai Super Kings

Dwayne Bravo has had a few niggles from the CPL. He did play a couple of games in this UAE leg but was rested in the last game against KKR. If he has recovered completely, he might slot back into the playing XI and will replace Sam Curran. The rest of the line-up will most probably remain the same.
